Wheel FAQs
We offer a variety of wheel types:
- One-piece cast wheels are the most affordable and commonly used, created by pouring molten aluminum into molds.
- Flow formed wheels offer increased strength by using a spinning and pressing process on the barrel.
- Forged (or billet) wheels are machined from solid aluminum, offering exceptional strength and lightweight performance.
- Multi-piece wheels are built from two or three components, allowing for more customized designs and finishes.
Offset refers to how far the mounting surface of the wheel is from its centerline.
- A low or negative offset pushes the wheels outward.
- A high or positive offset brings the wheels inward under the vehicle.
- A zero offset aligns the mounting point with the wheel’s centerline.
Backspacing measures the distance from the wheel’s mounting surface to the back edge of the wheel. It affects how far the wheel extends toward the suspension components.
The bolt pattern, or pitch circle diameter (PCD), is the diameter of the circle that runs through the center of all the wheel’s lug holes. It’s usually listed in formats like 5×114.3 or 6×139.7.

Yes, wheel spacers are safe if they are correctly sized, properly installed, torqued to the manufacturer’s specs, and checked regularly.
Use a gentle soap and water solution to wash your wheels regularly. Avoid harsh chemicals. Applying wax can help preserve the finish and add a layer of protection.
- Chrome wheels offer a bright shine but require regular maintenance and are more prone to corrosion.
- PVD (Physical Vapor Deposition) wheels have a darker, more durable finish that can be cleaned with soap and water only.
Most standard closed center caps won’t fit over large manual locking hubs. However, some wheels may offer open caps or extenders that accommodate these setups.
